I'm not going on a Course! Why should I?
PLANNING FOR CHANGE “A three day course! Not for me, I’m retiring. I’m just going to enjoy myself and take it easy, I don’t need to make plans or be told how to pass my time.” Well that’s fine, we hope you do enjoy yourself and are able to relax a bit more. But is that all there is to retirement, isn’t there a bit more to it than that? For example, how can you be sure that you have received, without prejudice, the best financial advice to safeguard your future, so that you can enjoy yourself without worry. Do you have any questions about taxation in retirement, such as “if I have a part time job will I pay tax and, if so, how much?” or “how much will my investment be affected.” “If I live in my villa in Spain will I still receive my Government pension?” What about your legal rights- “ can I still obtain credit when I retire?” “If I have to go into residential care, will I have to sell my property to pay the fees?” These are some of the questions that have been answered on the “PLANNING FOR CHANGE” courses that we currently run. The course covers all these topics and much more. Other topics include: Fitness/Health/Diet State pensions and benefits Safety/Security in the home Consumer advice - and yes even tips on how to enjoy your retirement Nottingham and District Pre-Retirement Council is a registered charity, and have been arranging pre-retirement counselling for over 30 years. All of the course Directors are retired themselves and so can give first hand experience and advice. |
