If you are an Employee of a NHS Trust
If you are employed at  Rushcliffe/Hucknall/Broxtowe Primary Care Trust, East Midlands Strategic Health Authority (formerly Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland Strategic Health Authority) or East Midlands Ambulance Service, you will automatically fill in a nomination form and select a suitable date for attendance.  This form will be provided by your Training Manager, Learning Development Officer or Human Resource Department.  All forms must be submitted and approved before returning to the Nottingham & District Pre-Retirement Council for processing.
If you are employed at Queen's Medical Centre or City Hospital (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust) the following arrangement will apply:-
NHS LEARNING ACCOUNT.....
As from June 2008 there will be no NHS Learning Budget.  Employees must seek funding from their own department.
 
DEPT/DIRECTORATE BUDGET......
If your dept/directorate is covering the cost then you must forward a letter (or nominationa form) to the Pre-Retirement Council with invoice details, i.e. name and address of the person who is to process the invoice. 
 
OR.....
PERSONAL CHEQUE
If you choose to pay by personal cheque, please forward the cheque to the Pre-Retirement Council at 144a High Road, Beeston, Nottm. NG9 2LN (Payable to Nottingham & Distrtict Pre-Retirement Council)
 
These courses are very similar to a Mixed Course and are held at Beeston Town Hall.  They are held three times a year and the dates for 2008 are:-

                                                      5th, 6th, 7th, October 2009
                                     
 
These courses contain a subject on your Occupational Pension Scheme and details of how to join the NHS Retirement Fellowship.  However, they quickly become over-subscribed and if this happens you may be allowed to attend a Mixed Course.  (Mixed Courses take place every month and are also held at the Beeston Town Hall.)
 
If you are employed by the Sherwood Forest NHS Trust,  'In-House' courses are in the process of being organised by PCT and the acute trust (Sherwood Forest Hospital).  Karen Cowley will be dealing with the SFH and she can be contacted on 01623 622515 Ext. 3576 or e mail  karen.cowley@sfh-tr.nhs.uk . A course has been arranged for 20th and 21st November 2008 at The Towers, Botany Ave, Mansfield, Notts.
 
What does the Programme aim to do?
 
Facilitated by a Course Director - always a retired person - this three day programme aims to examine lifestyle in retirement looking at (but not dictating) ways in which individuals can help themselves live as full and enjoyable a life as possible.  The aim is to encourage looking forward!
